You never realize
you’ve weaponized your mind
until it explodes.
Like a warhead
packed with negativity
(dislikes, resentments, and perceived slights)
smoldering beneath the glaring radar
of your focused attention –
it ultimately reaches a critical mass.
Primed for detonation,
the slightest misdeed,
the wrong action or word
– even the wrong look –
becomes a trigger.
The people you love the most
stand inside your blast zone,
unaware
of the weapon within their midst.
If you cannot disarm yourself,
you should replace your payload.
Let your fallout consist
of love, confidence, and hope –
and let it contaminate
friends and foes alike.
