I am not here

When you look down upon my grave,
remember laughter that I gave.
I hope you won’t remember me
for all the things I could not be.
Forget the errors of my past,
and know that I am free at last.
My memory will always stay,
it’s just my pain that died away.
For now I rise each day again.
I fall with rain, and blow with wind.
I fly the path an eagle takes
I’m not the sum of my mistakes.
When you look down upon my grave,
I’m somewhere better, far away.
Your eyes may close, and fill with tears –
but not for me. I am not here.
