From time to time (once a month, at least) a new sale will pop up on our tablets, where we can be enticed to buy more music or movies at a slightly lower rate. The latest example is the Women’s History sale, where we can buy songs or albums from selected female artists.
It’s not MUCH of a sale, to be sure. The individual songs cost exactly the same ($1.97 each), and we only save a dollar or two by purchasing the whole album! But I’m always willing to do what I can to support Women’s History, so I made it a point to browse through their selections.
I scrolled through some artists that I like, but not enough to buy (think Aretha Franklin, Beyonce, and Rihanna), raced past a few others that I DON’T like and wouldn’t buy (think Lady Gaga and Megan Thee Stallion), any settled on a few possibilities.
The only Billie Eilish song I really like is Bad Guy – and I already have that one. I do like some Cardi B songs – but I’d rather buy a lap dance from her than buy her album! (just kidding) (I couldn’t afford one, anyway!) So I settled on a few Nikki Minaj songs that I know, like, and hadn’t heard in a while. (And it helps that Lil Wayne and Drake were in them, too!)
It wasn’t much of a bargain, since I paid the same price I would’ve paid at any time, but at least I can say that I did my part to support Women’s History. (No need to thank me, Nikki, I’m just cool like that!) :-}
However, I DID notice a good deal on the tablet recently, that I’d like you to pass on to your friends and family in here. You’d have to be a detective to be able to find it, because they kept it well-hidden. (I’M not a detective, by the way, but I AM smart – though I keep THAT well-hidden…)
Have your people go to the movie section of the Media Store. Hit the search icon, hit filter, and make your search for the price of the movies, from low to high. Or, you can just hit search – then hit search again.
When they do that, the first several movies that pop up cost $0.00 – which means they are absolutely free! You don’t even have to “purchase” them, you just “add” them.
Admittedly, most of them a older movies, or Christian themed movies, which many people wouldn’t pay for at all – but they ARE free, so they’ll at least keep you entertained as you’re locked in your cell. ANY movie is better than just watching your cellie snore all day – or (worse) snoring all day yourself! They may even expose you to some ideas, character types, or situations that you hadn’t encountered before – which is never a bad thing.
Whether you’re watching free movies or ordering cheaper music – it’s never a bad idea to commemorate Women’s History. Life just wouldn’t be the same without them (women, I mean, not movies and music!) – as anyone in TDCJ could attest to. Well, the gender benders may disagree, but I’d choose an Eve before a Steve, any day! So says DannyBoy.
